Great Northern rocks The Social
by Liz Fernandez/FloridaEntertainmentScene.com |
October 28, 2007 - Orlando, FL - They set the mood on stage with red candles, decorative white lights, and anticipation at tonight's concert at The Social. Los Angeles band Great Northern expertly created this very relaxing stage setting before unexpectedly astonishing audience members away with their noteworthy performance.

The appealing vocal combinations of Rachel Stolte and Solon Bixler were visionary and demonstrated their superior song writing skills. This four piece band convinced audience members with their dynamic performance of songs from their debut album, “Trading Twilight For Daylight”.
All four members give a committed performance and show true musicianship managing Keyboards, bells, and even extra floor toms, never seizing to amaze. Their mood is very dark and compelling and at the same time soothing and serene. Each song proved to build into a rhythmically enjoyable experience taking you smoothly from beginning to end in reverie.
This was really one of the more breathtaking and gratifying performances I have seen in some time. Their performance left me feeling very nostalgic and peaceful. This band is obviously composed of the most professional musicians and their chemistry on stage is evident, flowing and well rehearsed.
Their CD is brilliant, but their live performance seals the deal.
