Go Betty Go - "Nothing Is More" CD Review
Release Date: September 13, 2005
Released By: Side One Dummy Records

September 16, 2005 - Go Betty Go: 8 songs of non stop punk rock music plus anxious lyrics equals pure fun. The girls of Go Betty Go embrace subtle harmonies, speed up pretty melodies, and add head banging guitars.

Obviously from California, their track #2 is titled, "I'm from LA." You can laugh by the way they express that people from LA are not punctual (due to traffic). Listen to it and you'll see what I'm talking about. I love this track because it's just pure rock and roll and it allows a giggle or two.

Listen to track # 4, "The Pirate Song" you may be able to relate to a girl giving advice to a friend that has lost her man to a "circus freak." This song has a ska break down introduced in the verses that adds spunk to the "get over it" words of advice.

They dare include track #6- "No Hay Perdon" clearly sharing with their fans that they are of Hispanic ethnicity. Even if you don't understand what they are saying you must understand that this is one of the catchiest songs on the album. It starts off with a nice Spanish guitar intro and develops into a ska beat that will keep you moving happily to the beat. Who cares what they're saying when the music is so darn good!

"Ticking Bombs" is one of their slower songs that plays just in time as track #9. Although it is a rock ballad, the marching drums and bouncy lyrics in the verses allow you to groove along as you learn about this relationship problem.

This album includes heart wrenching words of breaking up, being set up and Saturdays. It keeps your spirits up and makes you want to spin the album just one more time.

Go Betty Go is from Los Angeles, CA. For more band info log onto: GoBettyGo.com. To sample music by Go Betty Go log onto to their page at myspace.com.
