Gargamel! Concert Review
at The House of Blues in Orlando, FL |
December 18, 2004 - OK... I'm going to admit something right here, right now... I like "Lets Go" by Trick Daddy featuring Lil' Jon and his homies. I love that stupid, catchy beat and how ridiculously funny Lil' Jon sounds yelling "yeah!" ... now, you're probably asking how the hell is this information even the slightest bit relevant for a GARGAMEL! review? Well, its relevant for one big reason: it makes one great cover song for a band like this. With a singer as facially animated as theirs, it almost adds to the silliness of the song ... screaming like a man in the most excruciating pain of his life one minute, then beaming like a little girl with a new pony the next ... and just think, that was only one of the many hilarious attributes to their set.
*NOTE* If you like Paris Hilton or Ashlee Simpson skip the following paragraph.
They continued to amuse the crowd by poking fun at two of today's more popular ladies, first with Ashlee Simpson saying "I can just imagine their [Jessica and Ashlee's) dad talking with God, and God says 'OK, I'm going to give you one daughter with looks and talent enough to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams, and one daughter without either talent or looks. The catch is that you have to make them both famous..." Then continuing his rampage, but this time with Paris Hilton, comparing her new night club with a certain part of her anatomy, saying "it's pink inside and can seat 300." Teheehee...
But not every aspect of Gargamel! is a laughing matter, as far as the music goes, live or recorded, it's very good. It's perfect in time, and it shows their ability and talent. But would you expect any less from Orlando's Best Metal Band? I didn't think so.
