Q: How did Gadwell Lane form and decide on it's name?

Luke: Me and Ben were roommates back in 2001 and that was simply our street address. We liked the ring of it and our first show was nearing and we liked it the best of all the ideas that were thrown around.

Q: How has the addition of Lace Allenius help solidify Gadwell Lane?

Luke : The addition of Lace has been huge for us. We're now able to do things live that we never could have before with just guitar and bass. The sound on the new album is also very full thanks to her. She's also an amazing girl. We're all very close friends aside from being bandmates.

Q: Your debut album was released in November of 2004. What are some of your favorite tracks off the album and why?

Luke: My favorite song off "Clean N' Sober" would have to be 'Drown.' Me and Ben have been playing drown since we were in an old band with a female singer. Her untalented butt would have to get off stage and Ben would take over the mic for one tune. It was a nice preview for what was to come. There is also an early version of 'Never Mattered' on that album. It's very raw. That recording is what helped start to make a lot of noise.

Q: Where does Gadwell Lane draw inspiration for their songs?

Luke: Simple... Booze and women.

Q: How can readers sample music by Gadwell Lane then buy your music?

Luke: Go to myspace.com/gadwelllane. If you want to order it the instructions for that are also on that page.

Q: As an Independent band how difficult has it been getting your music played on the radio?

Luke: Pretty difficult aside from a few markets. Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Panama City have been great to us. I think somehow we're getting airplay in Baltimore and Chattanooga since some DJs checked us out and dug the stuff.

Q: Does the band have any plans on inking with a major label in the near future? If so which one(s)?

Luke: That's for us to know, (and) everyone else to find out very soon.

Q: What can we expect from Gadwell Lane in 2005?

Luke: A lot of shows all over Florida and up the East coast, maybe another EP.

Q: How difficult is it for Gadwell Lane to book shows outside of the Tallahassee, FL area?

Luke: It's been easy because we have a persistent booking agent. The venues tend to dig what they hear on disc and we can draw people from out of town thanks to awesome street teams that we have everywhere.

Q: What does the band do with it's time when not touring?

Luke: Ben likes to play video games, I'm a getting my masters degree in marketing online, Lace goes out and never pays for a beer, and Nick plays with his Ninja Turtle action figures.

Q: How helpful do you think online publications like Florida Entertainment Scene are in letting people know about bands like Gadwell Lane?

Luke: Extremely.... People never pick up a newspaper anymore. This is the way to go!

Q: Does Gadwell Lane plan on performing at this year's Florida Music Festival in Orlando?

Luke: Yes. We got in last year and this year we're hopefully landing a showcasing slot.

Q: What are some of the favorite venues you've played at (in and outside of Florida)?

Luke: Tallahassee has got Big Daddy's, Richmond, VA has got Nanci Raygun, we love Holly & Dolly's in Casselberry, The Nick in Alabama was very cool.

Q: How can readers get in touch with their favorite member of Gadwell Lane?

Luke: They can surf over to gadwelllane.com and our mailing address is on there. Please don't send us any nudes... Well, unless your a hot chick.

Q: Do you have anything to say to people who read this Interview?

Luke: Save Ben, ride a drummer.

Gadwell Lane is from Tallahassee, FL. They regulary play shows all over Florida and tour outside of Florida as much as possible. You can sample their music by visiting the official Gadwell Lane website or by visiting Gadwell Lane on myspace.com.
