Fear My Thoughts
"Hell Sweet Hell" CD Review
Release Date: July 26, 2005
Released by: Lifeforce Records |
July 12, 2005 - When I put in this CD I didn't know what to except because I hadn't heard too much about Fear My Thoughts. But let me tell you, they are brutal, precise and
to the point on their new release "Hell Sweet Hell." I
expect bigger and better things for them in the future.
This is a great CD, well worth adding to your collection.
1. Intro - Assorted sounds give off evil vibes.
2. Windows For The Dead - Fast thrashing rhythms set
a tone for what's to come and I love the use of more
melodic parts in the chorus section. Nice and refreshing.
3. In The Hourglass - Cool harmony guitars open the
song and vocals bust in with a growl that would scare
the dead. The guitarists do a great job in the riffing of
this song, fast precise. Drummer destroys!
4. My Delight - A little of a Black Metal feel at the beginning ten we kick into old faith thrashing riffing and rhythms.
5. Sweetest Hell - I like when two guitarists know how
to work off of each other and these guys do it well.
6. Dying Eyes - Reminds me of European metal at the
start. Good scale to chord theory and nicely played
solo here. Brutal vocals & pounding rhythms.
7. Sadist Hour - Another nicely played thrash attack and
use of dual guitarist.
8. The Masters Call - Pretty much just them punching you
in the face for about 4 minutes and 14 seconds. Fast
paced and to the point with a great song structure here.
9. Ghosts of Time - Cool guitar riff in this track, I like the stop/start riffs it just adds a groove feel to the song and
nice use of effects and lighter vocals in the chorus.
10. Satisfaction Guaranteed - Big time death metal vocals
on this track, then they surprise you by changing up and sneaking up on you. Cool melodic guitar riff in the chorus.
11. Tie Fighting - Driving rhythms, pounding drums & bass lines for days. The guitarists do a great job of using
different riffs and keeping things fresh.
12. Trying To Feel - A totally different beginning to start things off here. Real low key and I complement the band for doing something totally different on this track and really changing directions.
