Q: How did the band come up with the name DevilDriver?

Dez: It came out of an Italian witchcraft book at my house. My wife is the one who found it. It's what witches call their spells to drive away evil. They're called Devildrivers. Almost the opposite meaning of the way it sounds.

Q: What's the name of your new Album?

Dez: DevilDriver. Simply titled DevilDriver.

Q: What are some of your favorite tracks off the Album?

Dez: I would say the first track "Nothing's Wrong" is one of my favorite tracks. Another song, "I Could Care Less" that the video
has been shown a lot, I love that track as well.

Q: How long did it take you to record the video?

Dez: We did the video in a day. Probably about a 14 hour shoot.
It was fun. It was a good time.

Q: Can fans buy a copy at your shows?

Dez: You can purchase the album at shows or at your local neighborhood outlet. If they don't carry it, ask them to carry it and they'll get it in for you. (Editors Note: Click here to purchase music

Q: Do you or any other members of the band have any rituals to get you amped up and perform?

Dez: You know what we all kind of hang out together. We listen to music in the front lounge of the bus. Some of us drink wine or other things. We just kind of bond together, then go out together as a team.

Q: I noticed you have a lot of tattoos. What are some of your favorite ones and where do you go to get them?

Dez: I get them all over the world. My favorite one is by an artist by
the name of Paul Booth, he's world famous Tattoo artist, it's a pumpkin on my left hand. A Mechanical Pumpkin. I've got a lot of
just basically Halloween stuff.

Q: Where did you get that tattoo at?

Dez: I got that one (the pumpkin) backstage at Ozzfest about
four or five years ago.

Q: Where do you see DevilDriver five years from now?

Dez: Five years from now I see us on our fifth album. Absolutely
ruling the heavy metal world. That's what I see for sure.

Q: Who are some of the bands you admire?

Dez: Well, I admire a lot of bands. Ozzy, I admire Superjoint Ritual, a lot. An underground band called Darkest Hour, I like a lot. They're really cool. I like all music. I listen to everything. I believe damn the purest. I listen to black metal, death metal, Billy Holiday, ZZ Top,
I love all music. I think that's the way it should be.

Q: Do you have a most memorable tour moment you'd like to share
with us?

Dez: I just got asked that question actually this morning. I toured
with Black Sabbath and Pantera all through Europe. We played in front of crowds of 70,000 to 100,000 people. You can kill me
know and put it on my tombstone. I'd be real happy. (Laughs).

Q: What does the band do to kill time when on the road?

Dez: Let's see. The guitar players play guitar a lot in the back (of the tour bus), I'm constantly writing lyrics and messing around like that. Otherwise we're watching movies. Trying to find places to go eat. Just like you would if you were going to any town. Right now we just happen to be out in front of Downtown Disney so I'm sure some of us will venture in there later on tonight. House of Blues is always a good place to get food. We're doing the normal things everybody does.

Q: If you weren't a musician what would you be?

Dez: Well, I've done a lot of different things. I come from a blue collar working class background. My father's a construction worker. I imagine, I'd would be a construction worker as well. I spent all my summers since I was thirteen on a construction site. That's probably where I would be.

Q: Where are you from?

Dez: Southern California.

Q: Do you have anything you'd like to say to the fans of DevilDriver?

Dez: Come out to see a heavy metal show. Support your local heavy metal bands and heavy metal scene. If you like good heavy music go pick up the DevilDriver CD. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Thank you for your support.

Q: Dez, thank you very much, I wish you much success.

Dez: Thank you very much I appreciate it.
