All Time Low On The Rise
By LeeAnn Huntoon/FloridaEntertainmentScene.com

July 1, 2006 - Orlando, FL - Just recently signing to an independent label (Hopeless/Subcity Records) All Time Low is on an all time high. Only eighteen, these four guys are dynamically taking the world of punk/pop by storm. There is a resonance to their sound, a maturity that most bands spend years trying to obtain. With a full touring schedule and a new EP coming out this month, these guys are on the road to an ever-expectant musical venture.

When I heard that I was covering All Time Low at Wills Pub I have to admit I was a little apprehensive. The bar was dark and musky with this oddly familiar odor. Band stickers from previous shows papered the walls leading towards the back stage. It was a challenge just to get through the door. Isn’t that place shutting down soon? But, every new band has to indulge their first dive bar experience, and these guys did it up right.

Their energy resonated through every song. A constant connection to their audience made them entertaining, but it was their performance that really made them stand out. Taking the stage, they formed a fixed circle facing each other. Connection forced the scene to blow up with anticipated energy! The guitars started to burn with forceless vitality. Before you know it the place is jumping. Even though it was a small audience, they played as if it was packed to the walls. Loyal fans are fronting the stage and singing out loud.

There is just something about these young rockers that keeps you mesmerized. Every song was tight with quick self-expressive lyrics, and undisturbed pulsation. The heat wasn’t coming from the lack of air conditioning, now it was resonated through the speakers. By the end they were all soaked with sweat, but these guys didn’t stop. ATL left the house with “Break Out Break Out” which left everyone wanting for more. It’s independent lyrics totally prepare you for what’s to come; a high energy in your face Pop/ Punk confrontation of the best kind.

All Time Low is playing on the Warped Tour and then diving right into the Amber Pacific tour with some really kick ass bands. They’ll be back in Orlando September 9, 2006 at Backbooth, so you should definitely check them out. While you’re their grab their CD…oh…and an autograph. It will definitely be worth hanging onto!

“Put Up Or Shut Up” is now available at your favorite record store.
