"Hitler and the Occult"
Monday, November 5, 2007 at 9:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)
Was Adolf Hitler influenced and motivated by the occult? Through the
years, some have claimed that there was a mysterious connection between
the occult, Hitler and the Nazi Party - including those who maintain
that Hitler killed others to keep his occult beliefs a secret. Now, NGC
examines whether a young Hitler's involvement with the German Workers'
Party brought him into contact with occultists who may have influenced
his beliefs and the fate of the Nazi Party.
"Naked Science: Birth of the Solar System"
Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 8:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)
Where did our solar system come from? Scientists have been proposing
theories, but the advent of space flight and space-based telescopes gave
us unexpected clues to solving the mystery of the formation of our solar
system as it exists today. Now, see how scientists at the forefront of
the quest are using methods ranging from sending spacecraft to collect
dust samples from comets to infrared telescope technology to meteorite
analysis and lunar rock testing to uncover the truth behind the birth of
our solar system.
"Naked Science: Hubble Trouble"
Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 9:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)
The Hubble Space Telescope is arguably the most important scientific
instrument ever built, changing our understanding of our place in the
cosmos. It has stared out over billions of light years to the edge of
the universe and the dawn of time itself. Naked Science meets the
engineers who put Hubble in space, the astronauts who fixed its faulty
eyesight and the astronomers who continue to use Hubble's unrivalled
resolution to unlock the secrets of the universe.
"Taboo: Extreme Performers"
Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 8:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)
Around the world, performers entertain through acts that many societies
consider unacceptable and forbidden. Taboo: Extreme Performers journeys
to find the people engaged in extreme entertainment and those who, in
some cases, even risk their lives for it. A North American sideshow
featuring a one-legged man covered with dozens of tumors and a couple
with "Lobster Hands" crashes through the political correctness that
helped bury the sideshows of a bygone era. In Thailand, contestants of
the Miss International Queen Beauty Pageant flaunt a personal identity
usually hidden from society. Travel to Mexico, where bullfighting is a
brutal tradition that has lived large in the country for hundreds of
years. Meet a couple from London whose stock-theatre act includes
hurting and dominating one another - all for the pleasure of their
audience. For more information, visit: ngctaboo.com.
"Explorer: Inside the Body Trade" (Featuring NGC Correspondent Lisa
Ling)
Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 10:00 PM ET/PT
Across the United States, more than 95,000 people wait desperately for a
new organ. Fewer than 30,000 receive one each year. This overwhelming
demand has given rise to a global black market in body parts where some
will do anything to get what they need. National Geographic Channel
correspondent Lisa Ling pulls back the curtain on "transplant tourism"
and investigates this illegal and growing practice. The show journeys
from American medical centers, where transplant miracles are being
performed every day; to southern India, where "donors" are eager to sell
their organs to the highest bidder; and into China, where executed
prisoners' bodies are sought after by black market brokers.
Additional primetime highlights include:
Primetime Programming For Monday November 5, 2007:
"Secrets of the Freemasons" at
8:00 PM ET/PT
It is a secret society that has shaped world events for more than 1,000
years. Members have been found everywhere, from the World Bank to the
United Nations to the Pentagon to top ranks of major corporations. They
have been accused of controlling the money supply through the Federal
Reserve, and they have been present everywhere throughout history from
the Boston Tea Party to the French Revolution. They are the Freemasons.
But who exactly are they? Why do they exist? Are they the architects
of a global conspiracy? And if not, how did these stories get started?
In Secrets of the Freemasons, NGC takes viewers through a comprehensive
history and development of this secret organization up to its modern-day
existence.
"Hitler and the Occult" at
9:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)
Description located above in Premieres section.
"The Hunt for Hitler" at
10:00 PM ET/PT
With shells crashing around his bunker and planes droning overhead,
Adolf Hitler faced the reality of defeat and took his life. But then
his body disappeared mysteriously. Only later did we learn that Soviet
leader Joseph Stalin concealed Hitler's body from the West for decades.
The FBI spent years tracking false leads and sightings of Hitler,
compiling a file more than 700 pages thick on his whereabouts. Only in
the 1990s did Russia open its archives to reveal a handful of Hitler's
teeth and fractured skull pieces. Join the National Geographic Channel
as The Hunt for Hitler uses forensic science and insight from interviews
with leading historians and eyewitnesses to explore what happened to
Hitler and the reasons behind the Soviet Union's deception - which
included reburying his remains eight times before unceremoniously
disposing of his ashes in a river.

"Naked Science: Comets" at
10:00 PM ET/PT
Throughout history, comets have inspired fear and awe. Today, these icy
giants offer a unique view into how the planets formed and how life as
we know it began. In Naked Science: Comets, NGC takes a close look at
the experiments that scientists are doing to gain insight into how the
universe evolved and whether these icy giants also are capable of wiping
out life as we know it.
Primetime Programming For Wednesday November 7, 2007:
"Naked Science: Glacier Meltdown" at
8:00 PM ET/PT
Imagine a world where melting ice caps have raised sea levels by 20 feet
and where the great coastal cities of the world could be underwater. It
is a nightmare scenario that could one day turn into reality. Now,
Naked Science separates fact from fiction to discover the real science
behind climate change, the melting ice caps and why powerful hurricanes
have doubled in number in the past 30 years.
"Naked Science: Prehistoric Americans" at
9:00 PM ET/PT
Who really were the first Americans? In Prehistoric Americans, National
Geographic Channel sheds new light on the discoveries that challenge the
earliest chapters of our history, long before Columbus landed. No
longer is it universally accepted that the first Americans were hunters
who came over the Bering land bridge around 13,500 years ago. High-tech
forensic science shows why some scientists believe that early pioneers,
with a sophisticated understanding of engineering, arrived thousands of
years earlier than we previously believed.
"Secret Yosemite" at
10:00 PM ET/PT
Yosemite National Park is a land of giants: El Capitan, a chunk of
granite twice as tall as the Empire State Building; Yosemite Falls, the
tallest waterfall in North America; and the giant sequoia, the largest
known living thing in existence. Few experience Yosemite's wild heart
like the men and women you'll meet in Secret Yosemite. Alongside one of
Yosemite's elite rock-climbers, we'll scale El Cap, the largest granite
monolith on the planet. We'll follow the fateful steps of five men in
1985 during what became one of Yosemite's deadliest days. And we'll
journey to the crown of a giant sequoia, which quite possibly was a
sapling in Cleopatra's day. If you think you know Yosemite, think again.
Primetime Programming For Thursday November 8, 2007:
"Naked Science: Deep Space Probes" at
8:00 PM ET/PT
In the face of deadly radiation, raging sun-storms and monstrous
asteroids, robot space probes are opening up a whole new frontier of
exploration for humankind. Probes are our eyes and ears in space,
showing us the universe up close and helping science solve some of the
greatest mysteries. Now, in Naked Science: Deep Space Probes, the
National Geographic Channel ventures millions of miles away to show two
of the most ambitious probe missions to the planet Mars and Saturn's
moon, Titan, in hopes of answering one of our most fundamental
questions: Is there life elsewhere in our solar system?
"Naked Science: Birth of the Universe" at
9:00 PM ET/PT
Our universe, solar system and planet ... where did they all come from?
Imagine that more than 13 billion years ago, our universe was so small
that it could fit inside the palm of your hand. From this infant
universe, everything would be created - stars, galaxies and the building
blocks of life itself. Now, join the National Geographic Channel as
Naked Science takes a journey through space and time to discover how the
universe was born, how our world developed and whether it is all
destined to die one day.

teach Boo's owner how to take control?
"Dog Whisperer: Isis & Tina, Nugget, and Katrina Dogs" (With Cesar
Millan) at
9:00 PM ET/PT
Thousands of beloved pets belonging to Hurricane Katrina victims were

Rescue Ruff-u-gee. When it seemed she had bitten off more than she could
chew, she called in Cesar Millan for help. Cesar plans to rehabilitate
the dogs, and with a little help from his wife Ilusion he hopes to find
the dogs' original owners or new homes for the canines. Next, Burl Barer
and Judy Faye met each other on the Internet. It was love at first sight
until their dogs met. Burl's dog Isis - a pit bull - and Judy's dog Tina
- a pit bull mix - are very aggressive toward each other. Cesar is
called in to bridge the rift. Finally, Russ and Nancy Briley adopted
Nugget - a bluetick hound/Great Dane mix - when he was just two months
old. As he grew larger, so did his appetite. Nugget developed a taste

physical limitations, they are able to adjust well to the world that
surrounds them. With the help of scientists and medical professionals,
Science of Dwarfism studies the different forms of dwarfism, including a
new, unexplained type discovered in just one person on the planet, as
well as the genetic mutations that cause such abnormalities and the
medical treatments being used to care for them. Viewers will meet the
Campbell family, including a mother, father and daughter, all with
different kinds of dwarfism. And then, meet Danny White, an 18-year-old
high school senior and aspiring karate black belt who is a primordial
dwarf - making him one of the smallest people in the world. Find out
how they overcome daily challenges that do not affect average-size
people.
Primetime Programming For Saturday November 10, 2007:
"Dangerous Encounters with Brady Barr: Bite Force 2" at
8:00 PM ET/PT
The animal kingdom teems with biting techniques - each one finely
adapted and deadly efficient. An animal's bite can provide vital clues
to what it eats, how it kills and how much force is in its jaws. In
Dangerous Encounters with Brady Barr: Bite Force, NGC's reptile expert
Dr. Brady Barr began his search for the strongest animal bite on the
planet. Encountering animals of all kinds, ranging from lions to great
white sharks, Barr found the current bite force world record for
bone-crushing capacity - a crocodile in South Africa. But Barr thinks
he may have found a more powerful set of jaws, those of a wild Nile
crocodile in Tanzania. Now, in Bite Force 2, Barr's mission is to
capture and record his strongest reading ever and beat his previous
world record.
"Battle of the Bears" at
9:00 PM ET/PT
In the heart of Yellowstone National Park, there is a vicious struggle
between two of the world's most powerful creatures - black bears and
grizzly bears. When a black bear was found slain by a grizzly bear in
1990, it was the first documented case in 60 years of research. Over
the next 15 years, three more slaughtered black bears were discovered
and researchers struggled to determine the factors behind these deaths.
Now, the National Geographic Channel, with a team of scientists,
investigates this Battle of the Bears.
"Planet Carnivore: King Bear" (Narrated by Alec Baldwin) at
10:00 PM ET/PT
Brown bears once ranged widely across North America before humans wiped
them out, but in Katmai, on the Southwest Alaskan Peninsula, they
thrive. In the nearly 6,000 miles of rugged wilderness, violence can
erupt at any moment. "Tuyuq," a powerful Alaskan brown bear, has
dominated the valley's corridors for 10 seasons. Now, in Planet
Carnivore: King Bear, with narration by critically acclaimed actor Alec
Baldwin, a brash young challenger is waiting to overthrow him, and Tuyuq
must fight to remain king bear. After the bounteous arrival of salmon in
the streams, a killing frenzy is sparked. Powerful opponents will face
off in one of nature's timeless challenges of survival.

"Taboo: Body Modification" at
9:00 PM ET/PT
Taboo explores the traditions and rationales behind a mosaic of human
lifestyles and values. In Taboo: Body Modification, NGC explores why
people choose to radically reshape their bodies. Go to the Thai-Burmese
border where women, as a sign of beauty, wear heavy brass rings around
their "long necks." Then, in the West African state of Cameroon, an
estimated one in four girls undergo a practice known as breast ironing
to keep their breasts flat in an attempt to remain unmarried and stay in
school. Then, in American cities such as Miami, see how some men - for
vanity's sake - are augmenting their bodies by surgically implanting
silicone pectorals, biceps, triceps and buttocks. For more information log onto: ngctaboo.com.
