Between the Trees Debut Album The Story And The Song Goes National On April 24, 2007
Orlando buzz band Between the Trees are thrilled to announce the wide, national release of their acclaimed debut album The Story and The Song on April 24th via Bonded Records. With their infectious melodies and inspiring lyrics, the pop tinged indie rock act has developed a dedicated following of sing-along fans that continues to spread like wildfire across the internet and into packed venues.
The young five-piece has crafted an album of songs that lyrically instill hope and celebrate the often overlooked, simple pleasures that surround us. Fan favorite "White Lines & Red Lights" is the lead single off of the album. The track’s soaring vocals are embraced by a pulsating piano that captures the excitement of first love and makeout sessions in your car while waiting for the light to turn green.
Between the Trees formed in early 2005 - while most of its members were still in high school. In July 2006, they joined producer Pete Thornton (Paramore, Shinedown) to record what would become The Story and The Song. Grammy Award winner Ted Jensen (Green Day, AFI) mastered the album, and the band hit the road including stops at the Warped Tour and CMJ.
Since its September 19th limited release via iTunes, select indie retailers and merch booths, The Story and The Song has sold an impressive 6,000+ copies- debuting on Billboard's Heatseeker South Atlantic chart at #3 and Independent Album chart at #44. The band celebrated with a release party at Orlando's Hard Rock Live attracting over 2,300 fans- a Hard Rock record for a regional act. Labels soon caught interest, however the relationship with hometown indie Bonded Records- who recently inked a distribution deal with Fontana- proved strongest.
Between the Trees’ upcoming schedule includes a stop at SXSW in March for two separate events- one with Fontana Distribution and the other with PureVolume. Having won a national battle-of-the-bands style competition that earned them a slot at The Bamboozle Left in California this past October, the band also hits New Jersey’s The Bamboozle in May.
Two songs on the album- "The Way She Feels" and "A Time for Yohe"- tell the story of a particular girl who recovered from a depression driven life and in turn sparked the movement To Write Love on Her Arms. With Between the Trees as its soundtrack, this non-profit organization has garnered great support in the music industry for its assistance to those who struggle with cutting/self-mutilation and depression.
