Miller Lite Could Bring Football Greats Into Your Living Room

Online National Auction Offers Chance for Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience with Former Dallas and Philadelphia Players; Proceeds Benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- One lucky eBay auction winner will be watching the October 8 Dallas at Philadelphia football game in style courtesy of Miller Lite -- and the bidding starts today. Through a week-long eBay auction (ebay.com/millerlite ), legal-drinking-age consumers will have the opportunity to bid on former players Tony Dorsett, Jay Novacek, Keith Byars and Seth Joyner, with all the proceeds of the winning bid benefiting The Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.

The highest bidder will be awarded a visit from the former players, who will show up at the winner's home to watch the entire game, debate football "Man Law" and discuss plays, calls and strategies. Additionally, the players will bring food, refreshments and a host of other surprises.

"This fall, Miller Lite is enhancing the ways in which our consumers engage with football and Miller Lite by inviting football fans to 'Upgrade Your Game,' helping create memorable experiences throughout the week that will make the football season more enjoyable," said Mark O'Brien, Miller Lite's senior promotions manager. "Giving consumers a chance to debate football 'Man Law' with former players certainly will provide a fun, memorable experience they can actively participate in, while also benefiting a great cause in The V Foundation."

Dorsett led his University of Pittsburgh team to the 1976 national championship, winning the Heisman Trophy in the process. During a 12-year pro career, Dorsett rushed for 12,739 yards -- seventh most all time -- and scored 91 touchdowns. He was elected to both the Pro Football Hall of fame and College Football Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as the Texas Stadium Ring of Honor.

Novacek was a five-time Pro Bowl tight end during his 11-year pro career and was a key member of Dallas' three championship teams in the early 1990s. In the three championship games alone, Novacek recorded 17 catches and two touchdowns.

Joyner was a star linebacker throughout his 13-year pro career, including being recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year in 1991 while playing for Philadelphia. A three-time Pro Bowler, he totaled 51.5 sacks, 24 interceptions and five touchdowns throughout his career.

Byars was the 1984 Heisman Trophy runner-up and went on to a 13-year pro career that included one Pro Bowl selection. Widely recognized as a superb all-around back, Byars throughout his career rushed for 3,109 yards; caught 610 passes for 5,661 yards; scored 54 touchdowns; and threw for an additional six touchdowns.
