The Michael Clayton Celebrity Hoop Jam will slam into Tampa
for a
rocking good time on Saturday, July 15, 2006. The Generation Next
Foundation and Michael Clayton will host the first annual Michael
Clayton Celebrity Hoop Jam at the St. Pete Times Forum. The Michael
Clayton Generation Next
Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation that
supports a variety
of charities in the Tampa Bay area as well as in
Clayton's hometown of Baton Rouge. The Foundation is geared towards kids
so they can be successful in all aspects of life.
Clayton also announced the sponsors of the event, thanking them for
their generosity and gratitude. Sponsors include the St. Pete Times
Forum, Bill Heard Chevrolet, Clear Channel Radio, the Marriott
Waterside, and Extreme Graphics.
Clayton provided insight as to what to anticipate at the Celebrity Hoop
Jam. "Don't expect the NBA Finals," he said, but added
that "you will
see different athletes coming out of their element" and having a good
time for a charitable cause. The Foundation, in conjunction with the
City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, will also distribute
tickets to underprivileged children so that they can attend and enjoy
the event.
The Generation Next Foundation has decided to focus most of
its energy
on two great organizations in the Tampa Bay area:
The Ronald McDonald
Mobile Care unit, which travels
throughout the community bringing
medical care to those who need it and the Tampa Bay Pediatric Cancer
Center. Along with these great local charities Clayton has not forgotten
about the needs of those who still suffer from the effects of Hurricane
Katrina and will work with the LSU Hurricane Katrina Fund to help these
people in any way he can.
